Implemented Portfolios to lead financial services delegation to Silicon Valley
Study tour to foster collaboration between Australian and US innovators
Leading managed account specialist Implemented Portfolios has announced it is assembling a delegation of executives and leaders in the Australian financial services community to conduct a knowledge-sharing expedition to the United States in September 2016. The inaugural IP Thought Leader Study Tour will meet with fintech entrepreneurs and executives, financial institutions, researchers and academics, venture capital investors and practising investment advisers, on the lookout for global best practice and collaboration opportunities.
Implemented Portfolios chief executive, corporate development, Santi Burridge, said the upcoming tour will be an opportunity to investigate how financial service providers are facilitating and responding to technological disruption in one of the world’s most innovative locations.
“The IP Thought Leader Study Tour will allow us to learn from the entrepreneurs and executives at the forefront of the financial services tech innovation boom,” Burridge said. “It will also be an opportunity to showcase some of the technology and ideas being pioneered here in the Australian financial services community and build long-term relationships with US partners.”
The invitation-only event comes off the back of Implemented Portfolio’s successful IP Adviser Study Tour, an educational program for forward-thinking Australian financial advisers which has conducted numerous US visits in recent years. Having received overwhelmingly positive feedback from financial advisers that have participated in the program, Implemented Portfolios has now devised a similarly intensive agenda aimed at industry executives, managers and technologists rather than client-facing practitioners.
“New York remains a world-leading and dynamic financial services market but given the pace of technological disruption in investment advice and service provision we are conducting the IP Thought Leader Study Tour in Silicon Valley instead,” Burridge explained. “We are eager to meet with these disruptors and innovators and gather ideas to build a more competitive, independent and client-centric financial advice process and service culture in Australia.”
The IP Thought Leaders Study Tour will be held in the San Francisco Bay Area from Monday 12 September to Friday 16 September and hosted by US-based Australian journalist and consultant Aleks Vickovich.
