Why we own Brambles

Brambles is a global leader in supply chain logistics, specialising in the provision of reusable pallets, crates, and containers through its CHEP brand. Its pallet pooling model — where customers share rather than own equipment — supports more efficient, sustainable supply chains. Brambles generates the largest share of its revenue from the US and Europe (around 40% each), with a strong presence in Australia (about 15%) and growing operations in emerging markets such as Latin America, Eastern Europe, and China.

Brambles plays a critical role in the distribution of food, beverages, household goods, and healthcare products — essential items that move through the supply chain year-round. After several years of tight pallet supply and elevated lumber costs — the primary raw material in its wooden pallet fleet — both availability and input costs are now easing. This is helping Brambles operate more efficiently and pursue new customer growth opportunities as supply chain pressures subside.

With a long-standing reputation for industry leadership, Brambles benefits from its global scale and strong pricing power. These factors create meaningful advantages over competitors. Combined with a disciplined approach to costs and capital investment, and a customer base anchored in non-discretionary consumer sectors, Brambles is well-positioned to generate consistent performance through the economic cycle.

ASX-listed Brambles Limited is a direct holding in the Evidentia Quality Core Portfolio, which is held in the Partners Medium Term, Long Term, and Multi-Asset Income Portfolios.
